About Us
Vista-Global Productions was founded by Producer-Director Bill Moniz.
Since 1989, Moniz has been involved in television production, including extensive multi-cultural programming for which he has received numerous awards such as The Canadian Ethnic Journalists and Writers Club 2002 Award, The 2003 Professional Achievement Award for Outstanding Performance and The 2004 Arco Iris Award.
More recent independent productions include a one-hour Documentary for television entitled “ The Shoeshine Boy”, a story showing how the murder of a 12 year old impacted on a community and a city - this documentary was chosen as a finalist for the prestigious Canadian Association of Broadcasters' 2007 Golden Ribbon Awards honoring excellence in private broadcasting ; and a one-hour Docudrama for television “ Portuguese Joe, the forgotten Pioneer “ , showcasing the pioneering role of an Azorean whaler in the development of the fishing industry in 19th century British Columbia.
Over the years Bill Moniz has accumulated a varied and impressive body of television production work mainly through Omni Television : Event Documentary Specials such as “ Expo 98-A dive into the future” and “ Porto 2001-European Capital of Culture” ; Production of Newscasts and Current Affairs Shows as well as of Lifestyle Series shows such as “Canada Contacto” a half-hour show featuring the lives of Portuguese-Canadians across Canada still airing around the world through Portuguese Television (RTP International) .
